Pear Shape
Pear shapes tend to have delicate, narrow shoulders, a cinched waist and curves around the hips and of course a peachy derriere 🍑.
Best swimwear for pear shapes: High waisted bikinis and barely there thongs. High waisted bikinis will hug your curves perfectly, why not also choose a high leg bottom version to accentuate the legs further. Those who prefer a daring look and want to show off that fabulous peachy derrière then our thong style bikinis are the one, a fave with the Boux community has to be the Ibiza Eyelet Bikini set. Finally, halter neck bikini tops. Not only are they so stylish, but they will help to draw the attention to your top half and accentuate your cinched waist!
For those who prefer a swimsuit then we recommend the cut-out trend, this will be sure to show off your fabulous pear shape to the max. Tip you can also choose a ruched style version as this will have a high leg and accentuate your legs.
Inverted Triangle / Apple Shape
The inverted triangle – or apple – body shape typically has wide shoulders, a full bust and narrow hips, so it’s important to balance your shape with your swimwear choice.
Best swimwear for Inverted triangle / Apple Shape: You should try to avoid thin straps on your top half, as they can make broad shoulders look wider. Instead, opt for thicker straps, or double strapping details. High-leg cut briefs and swimsuits with ruched sides are also a flattering choice for this body shape, working to show off your stunning legs.
Round Shape
This one is relatively similar to the apple body shape - perhaps with a little extra bust going on! And there is plenty of flattering swimwear that awaits your approval.
Best swimwear for round shapes: When it comes to bikinis, we recommend V-front shaping which will create a little waist sculpting. Underwired bikinis tops will also work fabulously for you, as they offer the support you need, to help you feel comfortable and confident. For swimsuits it is all about classic styles, we love the St Kitts swimsuit with the bold square neckline and swooping low back. Creating the perfect balance of classic glam. We all love the wonders of a little black dress and those wonders work for black swimsuits too.
Athletic Figure
Athletic figure, or ‘straight up and down’ body types typically have a leaner, straight silhouette and a smaller bust, with little difference in size between the shoulders, waist and hips.
Best swimwear for athletic figure: Having a smaller bust means a super supportive style isn’t required, so you can play around with loads of different styles, colours, patterns and embellishments, for example a halter neck or triangle bikini top. If you want to enhance your curves, and create the illusion of a waist, then you can add volume to your bust and hips with bright colours, bold prints, ruching and frills
Hourglass Shape
A feminine hourglass figure is balanced, yet curvy, with a full bust, round hips and a cinched waist.
Best swimwear for Hourglass shapes: When choosing a bikini top, it’s important to opt for a supportive style, so look for tops with underwiring or wider straps. Our super push up styles will create a real ‘bombshell’ silhouette! Let's also not forget tassel string side bikinis, with the adjustable straps you can place exactly where you want the string to sit on your glorious curves!! Ps. A secret top tip: place the string tie high above the hips, and this will make your legs look longer. Prefer a bit more coverage with your bottoms, you can always opt with high leg bikini bottoms instead. Wanting a more daring look but still classy, then cut out swimsuits work fabulously with hourglass shapes, showing off all the curves in the right places.
Spoon Shape
This may be a shape you haven't heard of yet it is recognisable for soo many people. Similar to the pear shape, our spoon-framed people have narrower shoulders and waists - but might have a slightly curvier midriff too.

Best swimwear for spoon shapes: When looking for swimsuits a ruched middle section is the one, this helps create super flattering line. Also opt with a high leg fit in both swimsuits and bikini bottoms, to of course show off those legs to the max. For bikinis, underwired ones are the dream as they emphasise your figure and flaunts your bust in the best way. You can also experiment with frills in both bikinis tops and swimsuits, this can add a little volume in the best way.
