Utilising research carried out with YouGov, here at Boux Avenue, we have discovered what women aged 18-44 in the UK see as their top essentials when it comes to packing for their summer holiday trip.
Whether it is a quick city break away, a week to the beach or a fortnight finally exploring that tropical destination, it is important to make sure you have packed all the essentials. Now you may feel like you have all the room in the world with your 20KG luggage allowance, but let's be honest that can quickly fill up.
With all the current airport crisis in the UK and the global rise of missing luggage that was recently reported in the news. So what are the essentials that you have to make sure are packed in your Summer suitcase?
Unsurprisingly over two thirds of women, (77%) surveyed*, would pack sun lotion as an essential with sunglasses coming in second place with 71% surveyed*. What was an interesting statistic from the survey was to see that in joint 3rd place with 66% of 18-44 year old women* saying swimwear and extra knickers (more than you need) are essential pieces. With nightwear coming in at 6th place with 56%* and make-up all the way down in 8th place with 49%!
Yes you read that right extra knickers, i.e more than you actually need ranked higher in suitcase essentials than make-up. I mean don’t get us wrong, we always pack extra knickers as you never know being a female if that time of month makes an early arrival, along with that fresh feeling of putting on a pair of clean knickers for the evening after washing off a long day exploring the new sights. We do understand, but to prioritise a few extra knickers over makeup, we admit still came as a shock to us and a surprising result.
